In 2022, I was a professional on LinkedIn like most, but I was unknown. In the same year, I started teaching copywriting on WhatsApp and Telegram, and while I grew a following on both platforms, I was still unknown on LinkedIn. So I set out to make LinkedIn users aware of and recognize me. I joined LinkedIn in 2012, but I only used it for job searches. I was not successful.
I continued to make infrequent appearances to job hunt throughout the next few years, and I was still successful. In 2021, I redesigned myself as a coach and wellness professional in order to attract people to network marketing. Nonetheless, I was once again unsuccessful. Because the technique was incorrect. On September 1, 2022, armed with self-motivation and creative anecdotes, I published my first intended copywriting piece. And that is my story to tell.
My name is Abraham Onyemari, aka, the “King of Consistency.” I’m a Content Creator, Direct Response Copywriter, LinkedIn Growth Advocate, Consistency Coach, and Training Educator.
In addition, I am the organizer of LinkPros’ 20-day consistency challenge and a partner of the We Write We Publish digital training academy. I’ve been on a 365-day personal consistency challenge and am only 10 days away from completing it. Hello and welcome to my world!
The aim was simple yet profound: show up on LinkedIn for 365 days, engage in LinkedIn feeds, establish connection requests, and post articles on copywriting as well as personal improvement. Why did I do it?
In September 2022, brand designer Nick Wozniak revealed a LinkedIn growth hack in which he underlined the importance of unwavering consistency. And he wrote, “Create content daily for 12 months straight.” You’ll soon find yourself at the top 01%.”
This post struck a chord with me, and it ignited and changed my desire to continue sharing things on LinkedIn, but I didn’t announce the 365-day personal consistency challenge until four months later.
During those four months, I completed four consistency challenges, maintained an active WhatsApp community, and freelanced as an Educator with Edupower Skills Academy.
And here’s how it breaks down:
- Two with LinkedIn Professionals “LinkPros” (7 days & 20 days) consistency challenge designed by Boluwatife Segun-Oluwayomi and l.
- LinkedIn Newbie Starter Pack training with Olayinka. Hannah, T.
- 20-day LinkedIn Growth Challenge with Haoma Worgwu.
- And this is because I learned that small, consistent actions could have a big impact.
Results began to come in December of 2022. I received a cash incentive of N15K for growing my LinkedIn following by 700 followers. Only then did I tell my dear buddy and L!nkPros coordinator Bolutwatife Olusegun-Oluwayomi that I was willing to tackle this challenge all the way to 365 days.
I also started celebrating consistent accomplishments once a month.
- Consistency Coach with RuMoney Nigeria is another fresh development.
- Timi (Sponsor) Writing Challenge
- The Founder Intended LinkPros Boot Camp (iLinkProsBC) with Omotosho Timilehin Ebenezer
- Served as a guest speaker at eight LinkedIn Audio Live events.
- Two six-figure ghostwriting jobs.
- Creating two new Audio Live events with Anks Patel and Yassin Bader.
- Voice recording instruction
However, the journey was not without its difficulties. My wife was scheduled to get an emergency replacement of her hip in December 2022. Taking care of her and the family, remote employment, and actively interacting on LinkedIn was difficult, but I couldn’t give up.
My wife had a heart attack in April 2023, during the Easter holiday, requiring me to leave the client’s facilities to be with the family yet I kept appearing on LinkedIn.
Four monthly traveling client training engagements, self-doubts, impostor syndrome episodes, and the lure of old patterns all put my commitment to the test. Around that time, I coined the phrase “If it’s too easy, it’s not consistency.” When motivation faded, constancy became my buddy.
And I realized that consistency is my most powerful ally. Instead of striving for perfection, I prefer to make small steps forward. Every day I turned up, no matter how modest the step, and I told myself, “Abraham, you’ve won!”
Consistency is a voyage of self-discovery for me, teaching me discipline, resilience, and respect for my space.
My efforts have yielded astonishing results. I witnessed bodily transformations, increased mental health, a greater sense of purpose, and occasional unfavorable tiredness moments.
Throughout this journey, I discovered that consistency means prioritizing progress over perfection. It’s about finding inspiration along the way rather than simply at the end. I learned that every minor alteration built up, and the cumulative impact had far-reaching consequences.
I’ve met and interacted with a lot of fantastic, kind, and generous LinkedIn professionals. And I appreciate their companionship. I look back in astonishment as the 365th day approaches. What began as a personal challenge had grown into an empowering movement. My story has inspired others, and many have begun their own consistency challenges, reaping the benefits.
This adventure showed me that the most significant changes come through perseverance, even when the going gets tough. It serves as a reminder that every day presents a new opportunity to make a positive choice and that consistency is the key to unlocking our full potential.
The quote by John Maxwell that guided me through this incredible year is “The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.” Now, as I reflect on this trip, I ask you to take on your own 365-day consistency challenge. Let us transform our lives, encourage one another, and demonstrate that change is achievable through consistent, purposeful action.
Thank you for joining us on this adventure. Let us continue to push ourselves to new heights together. Your goals are within grasp if you take continuous steps.
