Episode 2 Begins:
I moved to Bangalore in 2004 in quest of work and enrolled in a testing course at Girinagar Testing Institute. During that time, I sent physical copies of my résumé to every IT park in Bangalore.
I took an initial contract testing job at Wipro Technologies and worked night shifts to bolster my family’s income.
Because I was the sole earner, I had to keep an eye out for job opportunities.
After a year, I moved to Samsung India as a contractor, where I thoroughly appreciated the new learning, Samsung culture, new friends, and quarterly outings.
Whilst working, I continued my education and completed my MCA.
After finishing my MCA, my life took a new turn when I got married.
In Indian marriages, families are married rather than individuals.
As my parents had intended, I likewise embraced the happiness of marriage. In the early days of my marriage, I had to deal with patriarchal and financial obligations.
In terms of my professional life, since I was on contract, I needed to hunt for permanent positions and hence I returned to Wipro Technologies as Senior Test Engineer/Acting Lead for BFSI because I wanted to travel to the United States so targeted banking projects.
I received my first H1B in 2011 but was unable to travel abroad due to my pregnancy. As a result, I decided to take a step back and begin manifesting more from that point on, while remaining silent and working within.
But life had other ideas for me, as I had to quit my job after maternity due to long-distance travel, sacrificing everything I had accomplished at Wipro.
Everything started afresh to look for work in a nearby location. I began sending hard copies of my resume to each company.
Episode 2 concludes on the same cliffhanger as Episode 1: Will Ranjinni find employment, or will another wave break the surface of the ocean…
